OnEast Journal is offering prospective applicants the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience and engage in substantive academic work. Whether you are looking to strengthen your academic profile, strengthen your research skills, or participate in a dynamic student-led initiative, OnEast provides a supportive platform to grow and make a tangible impact.
Deadline – May 20. Prospective candidates will be contacted and interviewed. The bulk of the work will likely fall between May and August.
We are looking to create an editorial team capable of expressing expertise in a range of subjects. We encourage applications from prospective applicants who have knowledge of East Asian culture, literature, and academic levels of fluency in East Asian languages (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, Korean).
Graduate editors –
- We are recruiting graduate students who are currently in East Asian Studies to our graduate editing team.
- The graduate editing team may have a lower workload than the undergraduate editing team, but have seniority in decision making.
- Please submit a CV/resume and writing sample – preferably below 5000 words.
Undergraduate editors –
- We are recruiting undergraduate students in any program who are interested in East Asian Studies.
- Applicants should demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Recommended minimum GPA to apply – 3.0. Applicants below this cutoff may be considered.
- Prior experience is an asset but not required.
- Please submit a CV/resume and writing sample – preferably below 5000 words.
EASSU Openings –
- The EASSU is also recruiting a Treasurer and a Chinese Cultural Coordinator for next semester. Applications open in September.
