EASSU

East Asian Studies Student Union

Welcome to the University of Toronto East Asian Studies Student Union!

We provide a variety of events, services, and academic pursuits to all students in the East Asian Studies department. You are automatically a member if you are an undergraduate enrolled in the EAS specialist/major/minor, or if you are taking an East Asian Studies course (EAS) as an elective. Watch out for our openings, for our academic and nonacademic events, and for any research opportunities that may come up!

Connect with your fellow EAS students through our Discord server! We are hoping to go on a massive recruiting drive so that our Discord server can be a viable space to make friends, share notes, and help others excel in the field!

If there are any services, events, or amendments you’d like to see from us, let them be known through our suggestions form.

About Us

The East Asian Studies Students’ Union (EASSU) is an active student body dedicated to the undergraduate students of the Department of East Asian Studies.  We liaison with faculty and staff on behalf of all students in the East Asian Studies program, and represent the students in meetings of the Arts & Science Students Union (ASSU).

Our department is quite a lot smaller than some other departments, and thus has amazing potential for closeness and collegiality. We, the EASSU, are excited to contribute eager to student life for EAS students at the University of Toronto, both academically and socially this coming year as we aim to revive our student union, drive participation and host a plethora of engaging events throughout the school year.
